- Haus Labs launched on Amazon in 2019 and moved to Sephora in 2022.
Lady Gaga took over as CEO of her beauty brand, Haus Labs, on Thursday, Oct. 29. She started the brand in 2019 and has led its look and products ever since. Now she runs the business side too, according to The Business of Fashion.
Gaga reposted the news on X.
In her words. “I’m excited to take on a more active role in the company and work alongside our incredible team,” Gaga told The Business of Fashion. “I have a lot of vision for this brand.”
She credited her co-founder. “Ben and I started Haus Labs together eight years ago, and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built,” she told BoF.
What changed. Ben Jones, co-founder and CEO, left in October, BoF reports. He had run the business. Gaga ran creative and product. Marketing chief Angela Simpson left in August to join Patrick Ta, according to BoF.
Then → now. Gaga first used the “Haus Laboratories” name in 2012 for a perfume with Coty. Haus Laboratories launched on Amazon in 2019 after a funding round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. In 2022 it relaunched as Haus Labs by Lady Gaga at Sephora, BoF reports.
The partner. Jones joined after Michael Yanover, then at Creative Artists Agency, introduced him to Gaga. Before that, Jones was chief digital officer at The Honest Company for nearly two years. Its Triclone foundation has become a Sephora bestseller, BoF reports.
Jones on the exit. “Stefani and I set out to build a forever brand that stands apart,” Jones said in a statement to BoF.
The brand. Haus Labs was inspired by Gaga’s pre-fame days as a singer in lower Manhattan, when she relied on drugstore cosmetics to create her look, BoF reports. Jones told BoF in 2025 that the brand had grown “substantially” over the previous three years.
Why it matters. Until October, Jones ran the business and Gaga ran creative and product, BoF reports. With Jones gone, Gaga now holds both roles.
What’s next. Haus Labs had not announced new plans as of publication. This story relies on The Business of Fashion’s reporting and Gaga’s own statement to BoF.
