About Influence

News and media on the people who matter. Based in NYC, covering around the world.

Influence is a people-first news desk. We cover the leaders, founders, operators, culture figures and creators who move business and culture, and the rooms where they meet. We report from New York with a global lens. Influence is the editorial brand of 1nfluenc3 Media.

What we cover

Every story is about a named person: what they did (a deal, a launch, a move) and why it matters to founders, brands and creators. Our lanes:

Plus the rooms: the events where influence happens, NYC first, then global.

What we don’t cover: gossip or tabloid (relationships, feuds, rumors, appearance), partisan politics and election content, crime and tragedy, health or medical claims, investment, crypto or betting tips, leaks or embargoed material, and stories built only on anonymous sources.

How we report: Editorial Standards

TierWhat counts
A · PrimaryOfficial company newsrooms and press releases; a verified post by the person or brand themselves; filings; official event sites.
B · Wires and major outletsAP, Reuters, Bloomberg, WSJ, NYT, FT, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, CNBC.
C · Named tradesBusiness of Fashion, WWD, Digiday, Adweek, Ad Age, Tubefilter, Front Office Sports, Sportico, Modern Retail, Billboard.
Tips onlyNewsletters, aggregators, other news pages, Reddit and X threads. These lead us to a Tier A–C source; they are never cited alone.
  1. We never invent anything. No quotes, numbers or dates beyond what the source says. Quotes are verbatim and short.
  2. One Tier A source, or two independent Tier B/C sources, before we publish. A single Tier B/C report is labeled “reported by [outlet]”.
  3. Attribution in the story (“per Reuters”), and a Sources box on every article naming the outlet, headline and date, with links.
  4. “Confirmed” vs “reported”: we say which. Undisclosed terms stay “undisclosed”, and we don’t guess at values.
  5. Freshness: same-day and breaking first. Older stories run only as a follow-up on a person who’s in the news today, with their real date.
  6. Accuracy beats speed. If a claim can’t be verified before publication, it’s cut or the story is swapped.
  7. Every claim is checked by a person before it is published.

Images

We use only our own photos, official press-kit or newsroom assets with credit, or licensed images (for example Creative Commons, credited with the license). Every image carries a credit line. We never screenshot someone else’s photo as a cover, never present AI or stock imagery as a real event, and people in our own event footage need releases.

Corrections

Errors are fixed within 24 hours, on the site and in the Instagram caption, with a “Correction:” line saying what changed. A material error gets its own correction post. We keep a public corrections log. To report an error, email team@1nfluenc3.com or contact the desk; see how to request a correction.
